About

Soccer is the only game that brings fleeting moments of pure joy, and gives meaning to the lives of millions around the whole world...

Chelsea Football Club is now the 4th highest generator of revenue in the Deloitte World Football Money League with a turnover of 210M GB pounds. Messer?s Kenyon, Buck, Abramovich and the rest of the suits at Chelsea will be grinning from ear to ear as the club moves up two places from last years position although there remains the issue of just where we could be with a higher capacity Bridge.

One Last Push: Liverpool Preview

February 13th, 2008

I?m not sure if this will be the last time we play Liverpool this season - we normally end up facing each other at least 4 times but in terms of line-ups this will not be a typical match with the scousers. Both teams have been suffering from injuries and absences ? Liverpool more recently and Chelsea for quite some time now.

Chelsea Football Club today announced the squad for the next phase of the Champions League on the official web site. Due to UEFA rules we could only name 23 of the max 25 permitted meaning Pizarro and Sidwell have been removed and Anelka and Ballack added. Devastating news for Pizarro and Sidwell.

Drogba: I Could Stay at Chelsea

February 13th, 2008

Didier Drogba has announced that he may well stay at Chelsea despite previous statements to the contrary. These latest comments from Drogba may come as a surprise to some but perhaps not to many Chelsea fans who know his temperament well and are very used to his The Clash style “Should I Stay or Should I Go?” shananegans.

Our surprising perfect run under difficult circumstances came to an end yesterday at ?proper old football ground? Fratton Park with a 1-1 draw. We shouldn?t feel too disappointed ? I?m sure all of us would have previously accepted this run or results over the last 2 months without argument and to be honest, it was a fair result.

Tomorrow?s Premier League match at Fratton Park is arguably our most important match this season to date. Our rivals for the title race in Man Utd and Arsenal both have difficult matches also away from home so this MAY be a chance to narrow that 4 point gap further.

Mission accomplished again. Chelsea equalled a club record of 9 consecutive wins in all competitions last night but most importantly keep the pressure right on the top 2. The 1-0 result caps a superb January - credit must be given to Grant, Ten Cate and Clarke and a depleted squad of players who have really underlined the strength in-depth at Chelsea and the winning mentality instilled in them.

Avram Grant admitted to the media today that we did try and sign another striker AS WELL as Anelka. We can reasonably assume that this additional forward was Dimitar Berbatov if Grant?s previous comments on in the media are anything to go by during the initial speculation in the transfer window.

Tomorrow evening is all about maintaining momentum and keeping the pressure on the top two of Man Utd and Arsenal. Yes, we still have important absences due to injury or the ACN but we are the in from team in the Premier League and have been for some time by managing with our current, albeit, depleted resources. We can only give credit to our trio of Grant, Clarke and Ten Cate.

We progressed relatively easily to the last 16 of the FA Cup at the JJB Stadium yesterday and what?s more, we seem to be getting into the habit of winning with a dogged determination and refusal to be shut out the running of any competition this season.
